WHO IS LUMINOIRE?

my name is Jo HC Wang, and i'm a primary digital painter/ secondary photograph manipulator living in the United States. though i don't paint for subsistence, painting and graphic design in general have long been hobbies of mine. i'm inspired primarily by music, as strange as that might sound. most of my paintings are directly inspired by some music i happen to be arbitrarily listening to at a random point in time. for instance...i could be driving and listening to a song, where an image begins to form in my head...and if i'm quick enough to capture it in a sketch...it ends up in my gallery [usually at a much later time]. my style is developed [and is still developing] through trial and error, as i have not received formal art instruction outside of highschool AP art courses.

aside of my art fix, i'm a university student looking forward to graduating this coming june in the field of psychology. it's a field that i have a lot of interest in, particularly criminal psychology, forensic psychology, and psychopharmacology. i'm also an avid blader, swimmer, gamefreak and semi-audiophile...x'). favorite music genres are punk, hardcore, hip hop and most electronica...especially trance. i play a lotta games...ranging from fighters to shooters to RPGs and racers.

though some of my art might suggest otherwise...i'm not a huge manga/anime fan. i watch what i like and haven't watched more than a handful through, mostly anime series that i find introspective/ analytical of human behavior. my favorite series is Serial Experiments Lain...and i'm currently looking into Texhnolyze as well as Haibane Renmei [produced by 上田耕行, producer of SELain].
